Contract signed for a ‘Wetland park’ in China

In cooperation with Landscape Institute Shenyang a contract has been signed with the Government of the City of Shenyang  for designing a wetland park of 400 hectares.

On both sides of Pu River, the length of 9 km, a natural park will take shape with many small water ways and wetlands. The park contains special elements like fishing piers, bird observatories, watergardens, pick nick areas and observatories for fishes, insects and amphibians.

Gravel trails, wooden platforms and bridges are connecting these elements as well as main cycle tracks and bridleways.

Near the entrances, accessible for cars,  parking areas a wide range of  facilities like bicycle rental, kiosks, toilet buildings, thea houses, restaurants and management buildings are constructed.

Two existing villages within the area will get a agro-touristical function, giving the inhabitants the possibility to connect with the future developments, for example with establishing a B&B, a small restaurant or shop, with conserving the present characteristics of the villages as a starting-point.

In a Wetland Museum visitors will make acquaintance with various systems of water purification.

Soon several large helophyte filters will cleanse the waters of the Pu River.
